We’ve all been there. You starting out with an old DSLR or mirrorless. Sometimes a hand-me-down, sometimes you just put your faith in the Henry’s store salesperson. Mine was the Sony NEX-5. But at some point you start to outgrow your gear. Your projects get bigger, your old camera develops an all-too-inconvenient tendency to overheat. And with the camera technology progressing at breakneck speed (especially over the past 5 years) you start to eyeball the bigger, badder cameras in the store display case. I pulled the trigger on the Sony FS5 and after having spent nearly $8K on my first camcorder (RIP my wallet) here’s what I had to say about my FS5 experience.
